Last weekend, Baltimore overflowed with awesome music. This weekend, it’s DC’s turn! Tonight, Borgore and Chuckie will pack Echostage with all the bass and debauchery the world-class venue can hold. Hide your kids, hide your wife, and brace yourselves; it’s time for another installment of MEGA Glow.
Most people associate Borgore with a seriously bad-boy attitude. I wasn’t sure where the motivation for it came from, but my first guess was its all an act. After a bit of research, I found out I was dead wrong. Before his career in music, Asaf Borgore was a fitness specialist in the Isarli Army. Musically, he got his start as a drummer for the hardcore metal band Shabria. One night he randomly stumbled into a Tel Aviv night club and fell in love with EDM. Through early influences like Skream and Benga, he honed his genre preference and discovered his love for heavy bass music. Combining this with his metal background, he quickly developed his uniquely filthy sound we know and love today.
From early in his career, it was clear Chuckie was destined for big things. Taking the Netherlands by storm with a flawless melding of genres, the “Mix-King” himself quickly grabbed the attention of house-heads far and wide. Confidence and talent earned him the respect of kingpin David Guetta, who subsequently invited him to play at his “F*ck Me, I’m Famous” party in Ibiza. With experience playing countless festivals and clubs worldwide, Chuckie brings the Dirty Dutch touch to already hard-hitting house music and will not disappoint this weekend!
